    Not chick flicky. Think chronic depression upon tragic loss of a child, suicide of an acquantance and suicidal thoughts oneself combined with alcohol / pain meds. No spoliers needed...this is all clear inside the first five minutes. There's laughs in there but they're grim ones.
    I've been to happier funerals.

    A chick flick to me is one that groups of women go to with their friends en masse. It doesnt have to be a comedy to be a chick flick.

    I was just asked by someone what I thought of CAKE and said this exact thing. She needs a better film to shine in next time but I too really enjoyed her in this. It's well worth a watch for anyone on the fence.

    As others who have watched it have said, not a chick flick. Excellent performance from the cast in general.

    Not my normal cup of tea, but it wasn't my turn to choose.. Thankfully so.

    It looks pretty depressing, the trailer definitely doesn't say chick flick. Is it as much of a downer as it looks?

    just watched this, jennifer aniston was outstanding in it, i would love to see her in more serious roles, she is more than capable.
    really liked the movie, although the snot and tears have yet to dry off my face! depressing but good, i would recommend it!
