funny calls

    For the last week I have received numerous calls, day and night on my mobile phone. The call lasts for about 2 seconds and then stops. The number calling is not displayed.
    Any idea what is happening and how can I stop these calls?.

    It's probably marketing calls. The machine rings you, and when you answer it then connects one of the marketing guys. but if the marketing guys is not available. then it disconnects and tries again later.

    For starters, Contact your phone company and make sure you are not on the list for marketing calls.

    This is not an example of a funny call. A funny call goes like this:

    Caller: Hi, is your refrigerator running?
    Victim: Um.... yes, it is...?
    Caller: Well you'd better run after it then!
