Lockscreen Issue

So I enabled a PIN lockscreen to add a little security to my Z3 Compact but it resulted in the device becoming far more secure than I intended. The pin I chose was simply "1234" input with the standard english qwerty keyboard on the device, when I try to unlock the phone using the numerical keypad on the lockscreen however it tells me that the pin is incorrect. I'm currently locked out of my phone and don't know what I can do besides resetting back to factory state, which I don't particularly want to do! Any help would be much appreciated!

Password should be just "qwer" then or 7937?

Already tried that with no luck, unfortunately.

It should prompt you for your Google email details after so many unsuccessful attempts:

I've tried 45 times now and all it does is tell me to try again in 30 seconds after every 5 incorrect attempts...

Have you setup Android Device Manager?
