    Hi Lads.

My daughter wants to try out Contacts .

Her eye test results are ,
    R / -4.25 ,
    L / -3.25, cyl 0.50, axis 15 .

I have looked at Getlenses and was wondering if these are the same Biofinity lenses mentioned in the cheap contacts thread http://www.visiondirect.ie/biofinity-toric .

I note when using the drop down boxes for selection that the Cylinder and axis sizes are not the same ratings as my daughters eyes ( Cyl lowest number is 0.75 and the axis number is either 10 or 20 ...no 15...

    Any advice lads ?.

    Thanks.

Your daughter should have a contact lens assessment with an optometrist to discuss the different types of contact lenses and be properly fitted with them. She will be shown how to put them in, take them out and look after them.l She will also get a trial to see how she gets on with them

Yehh...She was in Specsavers yesterday having an et and ordering new glasses. She got a voucher for a free assessment and trial... She should probably just use that .

    ;)

Yes do that. Contact lenses are classified as medical devices in Ireland and need a valid prescription. Guessing, especially when starting with contact lenses for the first time is a sure fire way to end up with problems down the line

That's a glasses prescription. A glasses and contact lens prescription are two different things, hence me stating that contact lenses need a prescription. It needs to state the type of contact lens including the base curve as there are different fits and materials that will influence whether a contact lens type will work for one person or not.
