Gloss Paint and Wallpaper Removal

    Hi guys

Currently in the process of removing wallpaper from an old house (nightmare)

Have a problem on the stairs and hallway

I have remove the first layer, but half way up all around the stairs is another layer, but covered with gloss paint, which is proving very difficult and time consuming to remove

Have tried scraping, scoring, wallpaper stripper etc. with some joy, but not enough joy to justify the amount of work going into it

Are there any easy fixes to this? Someone mentioned to me using a blow torch to heat up the paint and scrape it off thus exposing the wall paper underneath?

    Would this work?

Just a thought - have you tried a paint stripper on it, like Nitromors?

Had same problem...Steamer is def the way to go!!!
Make sure you use it right.
Leave it on it for a good few seconds - the paint will start to go stringy. paper gets soft after that and the whole lot will come off. Still a bit of work in it though but ya wont know yourself.

Safer than a blow torch and probably only a little less fun :)

Definitely don't use nitromors. If you out for dry heat rather than wet heat, maybe try a heat gun rather than a blow torch. Might be a tad less aggressive
