    Hi Guys,

Just want to be sure but presume that when racing there is no CI rule that obliges you to wear the jersey of your club ?

In other words you can wear an off the shelf jersey once it is on branded.

The rules say you need to wear the jersey of your registered club when competing in open races.

Unattached riders or one day licence holders must compete in plain kit.

It's up to commissaries on the day whether they want to enforce it or not.

In my very short racing career I never raced in the club kit. I tried to order it but they had ordered it months before I even joined the club. Club kit was plain black with some yellow and blue. I had a jersey that was black with yellow trim. Never had any problems or questions.

Ok, thanks guys, looks like there is a difference between the rule and its application (the Irish way)

I'm in a small club and they only order new gear when they get enough interest and there is no sign of that yet.

Last years jersey is well pin holed at this stage (but is a fine jersey feature and fit wise) and I was wondering about buying and wearing the original unbranded version.

See there is always an option to renew CI membership as unattached and just join your club as normal. As mentioned above though that way you cannot race in club gear, you have to stick to plain.
