I use the Eley Alphamax no. 4.

I also use RC Camo 37g no. 4.......another very good cartridge at a reasonable price.

What shotgun cartridges do you use for foxes?
    I use Eley Alphamax:D

when goin doing covers witht the gun club i usually have a 42g 4 light magnum in the first barrel and a bb or AAA in the second.. but the 42g 4s usually do the job

    Hi guys,
I have being shooting foxes for twenty years and tried all the heavy cartridges out there. The best I have ever used is the eley alphamax BB 36 grams with the White paper cover on the ends.never fails to do serious damage!!!

    as above ^

I use them in the semi with a turkey choke... great combination. Holds a great pattern at 50 yards.

Had a box of them for years (shows how much foxing I do).

They kill them quick and they always stayed dead for me.

Nearly knocked a tooth out with a snapshot one day. Was worth it.

Bought that box in Cobbe's Rod and Gun. Long gone now.

Can you still get the Eley BB 36gr with the paper ends?

Havent seen them in a long time , The load is still available but as far as I know theyve changed the design of the cartridge.

Remington 50grm 0's through a full extended choke I have found excellent! Serious killing cartridge. You can get these in higher numbers as well for the closer foxes.

Some good suggestions. I use Alpha Max 4's

However, as a side note, it baffles me the amount of lads that think they can knock a fox at 80+ yds with a shotgun and they try!!.....:eek:

Theyre usually the same boys that shoot ducks 100 yards overhead , or a pheasant touching 90 yards with a gale force wind behind his tail
