Still on the lookout for a car.

Saw this today, what would be a good price to pay for it?

I see other 08 gti's(some with higher spec) asking less than 10k, however this is an 09 with lower miles, so taking that into account, what is it worth?Opinions welcome.

would the revenues VRT calculator be a fairly accurate way to value a car? I know this doesn't take condition/service history in account but would it give a good ball park? I entered the cars details and revenue gives it a current value of 11,340..this sound about rite? Thanks

Generally the vrt calculators value would be abit on the strong side. Have you tried ringing the seller and see roughly what price they have in there head. Also worth bearing in mind that in 2009 the mk6 would have been out that's a mk5 although it does look like a nice car.

Hi- I was in touch with the seller, said he would do a cash deal this weekend for 14k...I think he is looking for way too much but just wanted to see what others thought?
I know its irrelevant, but I sold an equally low miles 08 white gti over 2.5 yrs ago for 13250, so I would have been expecting to pay around 10.5 k for this, maybe I'm way off just wanted to see what others think..

Tbh I wouldn't be up on what gti's are making but 14k would be very strong to me. You have to remember when it comes to performance petrols at the moment it's a buyers market. They won't have a queue of people to buy that car. I'd say you'd be looking at closer to 10k but I'm not too sure. Hopefully someone that know me a bit better will post.

If you are going to offer him 10k probably best to leave it a week or two and see if the seller gets desperate if it's only up 2 days the seller is probably still convinced they will get 14k for it but after a while of little interest they will be alot more likely to consider your offer.

yeah I'll keep an eye on it. It was only bumped this weekend but its been up on DD at least 2 weeks. I wouldnt offer 10k on on an asking of 14 as I know what the response would be and rightly so!

Like you said, I'll wait for a while until he realises he's asking far too much. He even said in his add that he hasn't even had 1 viewer yet, don't think he has attributed that to his high asking price though!

14k is a joke. He'll reduce it incrementally until it sells for 10k at best, especially as it has the full Paddy spec.
