07 Scenic - Tie Rods worn

    Folks,
Our 07 Scenic had "Both front tie rods and L/H bottom ball joint" [garage's description] replaced last Aug.
Last month, we failed the NCT due to "Worn nearside/front track rod ends" [NCT report wording].
First, can anyone please tell me if these are the same rods?
Second, if they are, does that seem normal or should I be complaining to the garage?
    Many thanks.

Different parts. The tie rod joint is the ball joint inside the rubber gaitor at the steering rack, the track rod end is the joint where the steering connects to the wheel hub. The lower ball joint connects the hub to the suspension wishbone.
