Sequences Question

    This is probably staring me right in the face but I cant see it.

    Are quadratic sequences also geometric? I would say no as you aren't multiplying by the same common ratio each time. However I cant find a textbook or website that just comes out and says this. And I'm sure a colleague told me once that they are geometric.

    1,4,9,16,25,... is a quadratic sequence. It is not a geometric sequence. ...counterexample. Hence they may in some cases be the same, although in general they are distinct.
