Christchurch for legal work?

    Anybody out there that knows what the opportunities for law graduates are like in this city? I'm talking paralegal or law clerk work.

    It depends what qualifications you have. If you're a graduate with Irish qualifications you can't begin practice until you have an NZ or Oz LLB.

    It's likely recruiters will take this into consideration before they consider hiring you for any position.

    If you're intention is living there permanently, then it shouldn't take you long to the get the LLB, maybe a year or less with your current BCL or LLB.

    Once you have that under your belt you can pretty much begin training straight away and become a qualified lawyer after a year.

    It's a far quicker system there than it is here.

    I have an L.L.B? Would I get working for a solicitor over there relatively easily? Thanks for your response

    You should have no trouble finding work in Christchurch. It's booming there but I hear rents are expensive.
