Who has the X Factor?

So the show claims to look for unique people who have talent then moulds them into marketable pop clones who mostly sing similar songs and then fail miserably.

    What is the x factor:

    1) Don't write own songs and don't play musical instrument and if you do, don't use it

    2) Be able to take criticism and advice from talentless 'judges' who will probably use you and take the piss out of you and smile when they do it

3)Benefit to have a back 'sob story' or rags to riches type thing

    4) Easily modelled and not too opinionated, to comply (ie no problem dressing like a fool or singing covers of crap songs on show)

    5) Either already have a certain look or be so ugly that people think 'wow she/he is ugly but she can sing, how shocking'

    6) Fame hungry and willing to sell yourself out

    7) Be marketable and possibly be able to make music execs lots of money

    8) Be reasonably able to sing

    Anyone any other ones?

Well the actual question is who really has the x factor -which is 'a noteworthy special talent or quality'?

I am personally a huge Bob Dylan fan. I think he really has the x factor. Now he is not the best singer in the world but he writes and performs his own music and he seems to really have something to say. He is charismatic and mysterious and has changed music and influenced many musicians. Anyway I could I go on forever why I think Bob Dylan has the X factor.

So who do you think has the 'real' x factor?

I refuse to associate the name of a serious musician with a thread with XFactor in the title

Yes Jimi Hendrix was amazing and also he was a huge Bob Dylan fan. I like Hendrix 'All Along the Watchtower' version better.

Don't take the association with X-Factor to seriously though. Its more what the x-factor should be according to the definition rather than associating those people with the show so calm down :)

Ahh you edit as I was replying :)

I have. I am cultured, educated, sophisticated, charming, devastatingly handsome, impeccably dressed, talented and I have a mickey like a tower-crane operator's Thermos. As Mr. Mercury put it, just gimme the prize! ;)

Personally, i would say Freddie Mercury or Serj Tankien. But my OH brought up a good one i never would have considered: Robbie Williams. Neither of us are fans, and he is mediocre at best but his charisma took him really far after Take That, so i guess i would consider that the "x factor".

I thought everyone got bored of being annoyed with the x factor about 3 years ago.

Im thinking of going on it for the bang
