Reconditioned car batteries D6/D6w

    Does anyone know of somewhere in kimmage/terenure/templeogue that tests car batteries and also reconditions them? Was told there's some business off the KCR but can't remember the name.

    Why would anyone buy a second hand or recon battery these days.
    I work in a garage and we change all sizes of battery's and I'm telling you there cheap a new battery is cheap and depending on the size of the car.
    You no what the say buy crap pay twice

    Long gone are those days of reconditioned batteries. Most batteries these days are maintenance free with 2 to 5 year warranty.
    no topping up with distilled water, no little acid battery tablets, no need for battery acid testers.
    After battery has served it's use its scraped and melted down to recover precious metals

    No such thing as a reconditioned battery, it's a degrading chemical process. Sure you can get them to perform better very briefly before they completely fail but hard sulphation and plate damage is irreversible.
    The new ones have maintenance free written on then but they're usually nothing special it's moreso the lowered charging rates that preserve the electrolyte.
