I'm looking for a recommendation for this too, in Dublin 2 or 4 - I've a Levis cord jacket and a velvet blazer, I love them both, but they're too big and I need them taken in.
They are both vintage and would be expensive to replace, so I'm willing to spend a bit of cash on getting them altered.
    Thanks!

I've only posted three times on here and the three times I've mentioned the same alteration place! In case you're wondering, I do not work for them :)

I like to get my clothes altered and taken in and there's only one place I trust enough to do it and that's the Alteration Centre on St. Anne St

Have had many pieces taken in and taken up and they're quick and the finish is always perfect. Give them a try.

I was going to suggest the same. I went to the Alteration Centre on St. Anne St. in December to get a few alterations done to a dress and I have no complaints. I needed to get it shortened (it had three layers), two hooks had to be sewn on the neck area and I needed some stitches on the back to make it less open. Total cost was 30€. I do found it expensive compared to what I'm used to in Spain but then again this is Ireland, not Spain, and previously I had got a dress shortened in this place called First Dry Cleaners in Fairview and it cost me 16€ even though it had only one layer so all in all I think Alteration Centre offers reasonable prices and good service.

Yeah the only thing I would say is that I've found them to be a little more expensive than some of the other alteration places in Dublin. But I don't mind paying it knowing they're going to do a good job and not botch the job.

I got my jackets back yesterday - they are absolutely gorgeous, perfect - exactly how I wanted them. They were taken in in the body and the arms just how we discussed when I was leaving them in.
The Levi's cord jacket is even better than it was when I bought it - it's a guy's jacket, and she nipped it in so it fits me beautifully.
I recommend Alteration Centre to anyone who wants a good job done on clothes they care about.

Good to hear. Fingers crossed it stays this way, but I've had loads of things in with them and every one was spot on.

Cue butchered blazer on next trip :(
