    Hey all

I had a accident back in 2013 where i was at a red light and got rear ended by a taxi driver, Anyway gaurds came took all the details etc etc and got 2 offers off the insurance company.. First offer was around march and the second offer was in september, Should i be expecting the third offer soon? 2 of my friends who were in the car already got there money and 1 is going to court with there's in dublin and should be expecting there money soon.. Did this happen to anybody here where the process is stupidly slow for them?

What normally happens is that people apply to the Injuries Board for assessment of damages.

Insurance companies may make offers but there is little point in trying to second-guess if or when these may come.

You should get a solicitor to represent you.

The closer things get towards court, the more more attention the insurance company are likely to pay.

These things can take years to resolve. The two that already got paid might have been because their injuries (assuming they had any) were more straight forward.

It's a very poor system imo, because it seems to be delayed at the expense of the gunuinely injured people. On top of that, the insurance company gets to load the policy of the liable party up until and after settlement.
