Rock Salt for cows

Hi All, we have suckler cows that keep lifting the cow mat, licking the ground as if short of minerals, usually shake minerals on silage but thinking of getting rock salt this time. anyone try the Himalayan Rock Salt?

I give all my dairy cows and younger stock Boviboost which is a copper and multivitamin drench. I do it at housing and turnout. I was advised that Boviboost is far better than rock salt.
