Have a 7ft Fleming here. Very similar to Gibney. Have it nearly 8 yrs. Mostly used during winter for clearing up waste silage around pit or feed passage. Only complaint i have and probably common to most is they don't stand straight enough when tipping and stuff gets dragged out when you pull away. Grand for shifting loose material gravel hardcore etc. Twin rams would probably be better but slow the tipping amd crowding action. Saw a well used one recently in action. Think it was standing in for a Caterpillar D8. Twisted, bent pins cracked welds. Not built to take dogs abuse.

Yeah they are a great job in fairness, there is €100 in the price difference between the gibney and nugent and was just wondering why

I have a Mchale bought it for 500 euro a builder had it during the boom it had nothing done. Unless you are going using one as a bulldozer I would not worry in general about make.

Just thinking back now i paid €750 for mine back in 07. Bought it over the phone. Delivered into yard from Mallow. Local Fleming agent wanted €780.
Price difference between 2 brands is probably reflected in thickness of steel or construction.

Nugent are known to be one of the heavier better built ones. I bought a 7 ft nugent for 1200 last year. 7 ft fleming would have been 850.
putting the two next to each other the nugent was made a lot stronger and had more bracing. if you are going to use it occasionally and on a small tractor I wouldn't worry too much about which one you get. But if there is a chance of using it with a 120/140hp tractor go overkill and get a nugent . It wont fall apart when it gets abused.
Also people say to get one at least as wide at the tractor

We have a Nugent one here. Bought it new about 15 years ago. It has stood up to dogs abuse over the years - digging/clearing out dung from sheds, spreading and levelling stone for sheds/yards/gateways, boxing top soil into every hallow in the place, transporting bales of silage to outfarm, scraping off the stand off pad etc, etc.
Don't know what size it is but it is the same width at the tractor.
This summer oh welded in a new strip of steel (4" wide about?) to the underside of the front edge as the original one was wearing thin.
Other than the odd hydraulic pipe bursting it has not given an ounce of bother. One of my favourite pieces of kit in the yard and in fairness also one of the most versatile.
