Made one here out of a uniblock lick bucket, got the pipes, non return valves and the plactic base for mounting the teats of volac themselves and it works out a bit cheaper;)
All its missing is the element for keeping the milk warm but that dosent seem to bother them. Can get ya a pic if ya want.

We had a ewe2.. very poor we taught milk doesn't keep very long in it and the little stoppers to prevent milk flowing back would block VVery easy.. have to have a good few lambs drinking from it or else you'll be throwing out good milk.. we got rid of it after 2 years and bought a fully automatic volac feeder best job ever so it was

    Fish tank heater.

Thats a good idea, never even crossed my mind that. But they drink it quick enough cold!

Agreed, cold milk works, when we get them going we put one of these teats on whatever size drum that holds a days supply and they look after themselves.
Takes a bit of 'gunthering' to make a bracket to hold the drum and bolt to the wall......better than bottles anyway, one teat is enough for 6 lambs

I was thinking about buying a bottle lamb reared last year. When I rang up the thing was costing a few hundred euro. Well worth it I know, but there's so many other things ahead of it that need to be bought. In addition you'd need a good few lambs to make pay. If you can master the adopting process, it should reduce the need for artificial rearing, especially if your like myself with my lambing percentages at 1.6 meaning there's always a ewe with single lamb available. I also have an adoption gate, means their getting a second lamb whether they like it or not.

I know if I had one here there'd be a lot more pet lambs here. Whether that'd be a good thing or bad thing I'm not too sure
