    Hi guys,
I am just looking for some research on what goes on with early intervention. We have had a hard year or two in our household. Some of you might have read some other posts belong to me. I won't go into mad detail about it but last April we lost our 7 month old boy Darragh to Lowe Syndrone. uring Darraghs illness we were told that this Syndrome only comes out in males and we were advised to get our other kids checked for this. last week we got our 4 year old boy Josh tested and turns out he could have ADHD. he is wired most of the time and shouting and fighting with the other kids but what kid of that age doesn't. Anyway he is been booked into the early intervention unit for a proper check over and I was just wondering what the process of this was or what type of things do the do with them there.

I've no idea about the process - you could phone them up and maybe someone could take you through the process? I'm sure there are lots of concerned parents in your position who need more information.

I'M about to have the same done. As far as I'm informed first therapist comes into your house to see how child behaves in place known to him. Then you have to go with your other half and answer a lot of questions. That might take up to 2 hoUrs. 3 part will involve you coming with your child to their clinic with room full of specialists like ot, speech and language therapist if needed ,psychologist, so on.... at this point you will sit with your child in the room but you are not allowed to interact with him. one of the team will lead the play.
That is what I was told whrn reffered.
    hope that helps
