    Hi there,

Since UPC put up their monthly charge and seen as I don't even watch half of the channels, I was thinking of leaving them and just making do with saorview. Is it possible to get a device that allows you to watch not only the Irish free to air channels but also the English ones?

Any combo box will do this not just the walker . Most popular in Ireland are Ferguson Ariva and Revez models .

Agree with Tony, I have a Ferguson Ariva 250 and the picture quality from it is brilliant, plus if you add a hard drive you can record shows and watch another channel.

Plus you get UTV Ni back which has gone from UPC

A very limited selection of other channels, if you only have a single satellite & single terrestrial tuner available. (Although most recent TVs should be able to help out with the terrestrial end, some satellite too.)

Currys have the combi boxes, as thats all they do, when enquiring about a saorview box, i was told that by staff before christmas.

Thanks for all of the replies. It probably sounds like a silly question but does the box pick up the English channels on its own or do you need a dish for these? Do you need to connect it to the aerial connection on the wall?

You need a dish for UK channels and small aerial for Saorview

Sorry to hijack the thread but wondering is there any combi boxes available for saorsat and freesat that have recording function

Saorsat is satellite so you use a satellite receiver and not a combi box for this

So would i need 2 sat receivers one for Saorsat and one for freesat or is there one that does the 2 with the ability to record

Any free to air satellite receiver with diseq switching can do this but to record two channels at once you need one with two tuners such as Vu+ duo or similar
