Reduced to €9.99 in argos, from €35.00

Stock availability is currently high, can be located at: http://checkargos.com/StockCheckPage.php?productId=3235205

Reducred from €13.99. and not 35... but still a good reduction !!

Have them about a year. Colour has not come off them and they are washed in a dishwasher. They are very sharp, not so much at this stage.

Honestly these are always on offer at some stage somewhere.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Have them about 18 months. Bought them for €10 (including shipping). Colour has not come off them, they were originally extremely sharp, less so now

As Beer Baron says, they are always on offer somewhere, but I've never seen them cheaper than €10 and at that price they are great value.

Well an argos thread would be pointless if no one posts argos bargains there.

These knives pop up on offer every so often and always at a tenner, I've have a set from last year. Doesn't need a thread of its own in my opinion.

Average enough knives, they do what they are supposed to do.

I also find your post amusing... Hiding argos bargains in the Argos thread :pac: so inconsiderate of people to hide them there :pac:

Panda Turtle has a point though. Individual threads on decent offers get much greater visibility. Rather than people going to the Argos thread in the hope that there might be something of interest there.

great knives for the price, were very sharp originally, paint has not come off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,982 ✭✭✭Caliden

Have them over a year, paint has yet to come off.

I have a knife sharpener so they're just as sharp as they were when I got them. Great set of knives for the price.

Great knives. Got a set for over a year and they are easy to sharpen. I have managed to slice my fingers open a few times with these knives.

I agree on individual threads on good bargains but I don't think that this warrants one but that's just my opinion, it might be just me who thinks that way :)

Most people wouldn't look in the freebies thread or Argos one, I think this becoming the hottest deal on hukd says something about the quality of it

Why don't we just create one 'Bargains' thread and put all the bargains in there? Things would be all neat and tidy then!

As a bargain casual I have no interest in trawling through a monster thread in the off-chance I find something useful. A 'Super Knife Set' is something I might use, however.

As a side issue..... where would I get a Magnetic Strip that i could stick to Kitchen tiles to put knives on. Then I would 'look' like a proper chef when I reach for my Jamie knife!

    Any links????

    Thanks

good bargains need a thread of their own, not mixed in with the random argos deals

Homestore & More have one for €5, and another for €30. Ikea also have two, a black one for €11, and a slightly longer stainless steel one for €15.

I'm sure there are lots of things in the Argos thread that you have missed out on so . Pretty much everything posted there are things that someone would use.

Should they all have their own threads?

If users don't want to trawl through monster threads, should the mods do away them and keep every bargain separate? ( Serious question, not looking to argue or anything like that :) )

Bargain alerts is already a mega thread
I never go onto the argos one

I don't care that much about it really but I'd be inclined to say yes. The utility of posts in those monster threads is highly limited.

I think they should because I'm the same as others, I'm not going to go trawling superthreads in the hope of finding a bargain.

Then again I get the impression that the Argos and Tesco superthreads have a kind of culture of their own where regular posters in there help each other out. I'm not part of it but it would probably annoy some regular posters in those threads if they were told they had to begin a new thread for every find. Also they seem to find so much that BA could get pretty clogged with all the individual threads.

That said if I ever come across a super bargain in Argos or Tesco I wouldn't hesitate to put it in a thread of its own so the most people can get a chance of some action.

Anyway I just came here to suggest to the posters with blunt knives to get one of those ceramic/diamond knife sharpeners that Aldi and Lidl do for a fiver every now and again. I got one a month ago and its made an old set of knives like new again, it really sharpened them up.
