    I bet the OP is scratching his head now :D

    I'd go with suggestion 1 for the following reasons:

    1. Amateur painters will have a far easier time painting with no concerns of splashes on tile surfaces or doors
    2. If its floor tiles, I'd be inclined to do them next as it will be easier to get precise measurements on door height before hanging once tiles are in place.



    That said, there is no law and nothing preventing you from doing the works in any order and to a very good standard if you are competent & careful.

    Thanks for the replies.
    I had thought it might be best to paint first, at least undercoat, before putting up skirting and all that kind of stuff.
    And it'd save having to cover everything to avoid splashes.

    I'm sure it'll be your intention but tile before skirting for a proper finished look i.e no visible grout-lines along lower skirting and a little more forgiveness on your tile cuts ;)

    And I'd U/C & paint the skirtings before fitting too.
