Birminham Airport Drop off

Hi, I am flying to Birmingham airport this weekend and being collected by a friend, just wondering if anyone knows if there is a set down area for departures that she can drop me off at or will she need to pay to park?

There is a signposted Drop and Go area outside departures however there is a charge for it and it's time limited.

Best bet might be to get picked up at the NEC rail station. There's a shuttle/monorail from the terminal to the train station and it's much easier to be picked up there.
