Hi All, as the title says, which pubs would you recommend for watching this Saturday's Pats game in Dub? Looking for somewhere with a wicked awesome atmosphere!

    Cheers!

    Woolshed definitely your best option

Never watched a game in sinnotts. Haven't heard of fan's heading there either so they might have the game on but not sure of atmosphere.

Also i dint think their screens compare to the woodshed or living room, although it a few years since I was there

I think I'll go with the Woolshed so.

Feel free to chime in with any other suggestions!

They do have a really big screen (or did 2-3 years back) that they use for football matches, and in a great spot for ou can see from more or less anywhere, but the only time I recall them having NFL matches on was the 49ers/Ravens superbowl though I was in Harry's a few doors down. They might show more but like you said, I haven't heard of it.

    Woolshed is a no brainer.

If going with Sinnotts i would ring them to check, they have no problem with Rugby and such and play the NFL on a sunday (when its quiet) but not sure about a Saturday night game when its their busy time.

    Hon da Pats!

Sinnotts have improved their showing of games. One of the IAFL teams is sponsored by them and they have done a good job drawing in the crowds. Not as good as the wooldshed but a very good alternative.

Dtwo's facebook page says they'll be showing the Patriots game this weekend if that side of town suits you better

If you wanna JUST watch the game I'd say woolshed.
I've been in places where you are battling bar people to turn it up or stop changing channels etc. Or listening to every bystanders opinion on American football

Why do they wear all that padding...

I've been in places where they wanted it turned off. The sound was already off, they didn't want to watch anything else, just seemed offended by the existence of the sport.

Hate that, would drive you mental. Portobello also show games on a big screen, and I think McSorleys in ranelagh also show them. Woolshed is the only one with a guarantee of a decent crowd of actual fans and an atmosphere where people are into the game rather than it being just in the background.
