    Folks,

Wondering if any of you have played in Vegas ?

Heading out for a few days at Easter and looking at playing once or twice.

Seems to be plenty of courses to choose from so looking to see if anyone has any personal experience before booking anything.

We will need to hire clubs so that needs to be considered.

    All opinions appreciated.

    Many thanks.

Jimmy I've played over there a few times in pro-ams, great courses. It really depends on what you want to spend.

My favourite course is Cascata, incredible place but it will cost you $3-400 for a round. If you have the funds, you won't be disappointed and you are likely to bump into film/sports stars whilst there.

Rio Sacco is also fantastic, Butch Harmon does his golf lessons there, his house is behind I think it's the 10th green. Costs about $150 and again worth every cent.

TPC Las Vegas is a complete dog, I absolutely hate it, it's full of canyons, very difficult and not at all enjoyable.

TPC Summerlin is a fantastic course and worth a visit, the PGA tour plays an event there.

For value, consider Primm Valley and Paiute, they have 3 courses each and are only approx 30-40 mins drive from the strip. You can play twice in the one day but be early as it's gets dark early and very quickly in Vegas. Paiute is interesting because it is in the mountains, at altitude the ball flies a mile so you'll be hitting your drives further and wedges longer, I love the place but bring warm clothing, it gets fair cold up there in the afternoons.

There are loads of great courses around Vegas and each poster will have their favourites. But I think all will agree that the Callaway driving range at the end of the strip toward McCarron airport is very impressive. There is a dandy par 3 course at the side of it which is great for practicing 7-pw before you head for the course.

Agree with Davo, the 9 Hole course is well worth a visit especially at evening/night to play in the floodlights. You have planes coming in landing over you as your play. Played there in November, 4 years ago and asked was it busy, they guy said no too cold for the locals. It was about 17 C and I was in a tee shirt :-)

Not played any other place there so cant help you on that.

The one I played when there was Bali Hai, which is only about 5 mins off the Strip.
From memory I think I paid $200 for club hire, golf and buggy

I played angel park and boulder creek last year. Boulder creek was a good course, angel park was average, imo.

    Thanks for the replies gents.

Think Cascata is a little out of our price range unfortunately.

Will be over there myself in February, can you hire clubs at that Callaway driving range?

Yep, buts it's branded as talyormade now. I played in april, think around 40 buck mark for clubs and a round in the 9 hole par 3 course.
