    Ok time for another break

2 Lads heading away for a few days Paddy’s week and looked at Sky scanner website and these came up, Warsaw, Lisbon, Copenhagen, Nice(Arsenal playing Monaco so possible), Istanbul(bit expensive Turkish Airlines) We’ve done all the usual main cities around Europe and I have done Copenhagen but not in a while. From what I remember it’s not cheap, still the same?

Also possible the Munich Strong Beer festival is also on but would think accommodation would not be cheap. Just looking for somewhere to enjoy Paddy's Day and that’s relatively cheap and cheerful. Not interested in museum’s etc. so somewhere with a bit of life.

    Any suggestions?

I was in Krakow before xmas and was completely shocked at how cheap it was for a proper nice city. I usually avoid Irish bars because they are always a bit of a rip - off but I wanted to watch IRE vs AUSTRALIA in the rugby , it was just under €2 a pint for a local beer or Heineken. The non irish bars are even cheaper.

I went to Amsterdam last year for Paddy's day, it was pretty pricey and wasn't as much craic as I expect, I wouldn't recommend.

I went to Edinburgh the year before and it was brilliant, obviously a big Irish community there so it has proper Paddy's day sessions. Me and my mates are thinking of going back again this year. Flights are dirt cheap, accommodation not the worst but pints are about the same price ares Dublin.

Was in Paris for Paddy's day last year. Wouldn't really recommend it tbh, most pubs had a bit of a paddy's day theme going on but nothing special really. Was in one Irish pub that was tiny and bursting at the seams, not very fun at all, not to mention most places charge around €8 for a basic pint. There was one place that had their own pints for €3 and others for €5 but it closed early.

So yeah, give Paris a miss if you're looking for a great Paddy's day buzz!

At that time of year I'd personally head south for a bit of warmth. I would recommend Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona or Malaga.

Just back from Copenhagen and it is definitely not cheap. Not sure when you were there last but I was pretty shocked at how expensive eating out was although accommodation was reasonable. I thought people had been exaggerating when they said it was expensive but obviously not! Would you consider Berlin?

We decided to go to Nice as we have picked up tickets for the Arsenal Monaco game so head there. I was there a while ago so know a bit about it. Ok maybe not for 2 blokes but what the hell

Did Copenhagen over 20 years ago it my backpacking days so much has changed and did Paddys Day in Berlin 2 years ago

    Thanks for all the suggestions

Yourself and Whacker might book into Lough Derg for the 48 hour gig. You will never forget it, arriving home totally b011ixed yet uplifted, confused yet enlightened, just like the way some of the other destinations will wreck you, in mind and flesh.
