    Hi all,
I'm looking to build a decent climbing frame for the kids this spring/summer and wondered if anyone has built one or rough dimensions to work off. I've a decent sized workshop and the usual bits and pieces of tools but feel that my end result might be a bit more "agricultural" looking than the ones priced at £1500 or so.
Anyone with any tips or ideas, I will source slide and swings etc off gumtree.
    Thanks

What materials are you thinking of using, i.e wood or metal.

Or you could use steel tubing like threaded pipe and fittings that plumbers use.

Thinking timber as i have plenty lying about that would do the main supports and then buy smaller stuff. Will have a look at the vid.
    Thanks

i made this last summer in 3 days over weekend in workshop and transported it in 4 pieces and reassembled 3 miles away at house . Timber for climbing frame and all handles slide swing brackets and swing timber finished in place stood me around €500.

So just an update, i managed to get the kids their climbing frame built just before the good weather came in and they've had great fun on it. Need to revise the swings as there's not enough height so going to put in a higher upright to give more legroom.
Cost me about £50 all in for the bolts, rope and screws, everything else i had lying about. Took me about a week of evenings and most of a saturday and sunday.
