Dutch Satellite - new box

I used to have an old satellite decoder, Technomate_5200, which broke down a few months ago, so decided to upgrade to a Saorview combo box. Currently borrowing a Xoro_9000+.

Not able to decode the Dutch channels any more. According to KingofSat.net the channels need a DVB-S tuner (for 19.2 degrees), whereas the Xoro9000+ has only a DVB-S2 tuner.

Thinking of getting the Ariva_150 or Revez_HDTS900,which have both DVB-S and DVB-S2 tuners, or even changing the satellite angle to 23.5 degrees which uses the DVB-S2 tuner.

Just want to check if there's anything else I should check first?

    dutch david

there is not a lot of dutch fta channels on 19.2 only BVn I think. while astra 23.5 has a few but there are mostly regional dutch channels.

I have an alma s2300 combo box (basic but is adequate for my needs) an di have 19.2 and astra 23.5 connected to it. I have bvn and the dutch astra 23.5 channels scanned in.

DVB-S2 is the newer standard which is backwards compatible with the older DVB-S standard.

Thanks for the info about DVB-S/2!
Think my dutch paycard (canaldigitaal) must be incompatible with the current decoder, will test it out with other decoders.

    edit:
Need CI module to decode mediaguard-3 for canaldigitaal

I would get the Ariva 250. I think that has a CI slot for a cam. Also I think the card slot on the Arivas can be used with most cards and encryptions (I could be wrong), may need a software update.
