HKC Battery Life etc

Just wondering if there is a mains fault, how long would a battery be expected to last in the event the power didn't come back on for some time?

Also, if the battery ran out and the mains wasn't on, what exactly would happen? Would the alarm ring? I'm really just wondering in case this were to happen during the night, disturbing neighbours etc

    Thanks

There is no exact time that a battery will last, there are too many variables. Do you know how many amps your existing battery has? Do you have any idea of the current consumption on your system........It goes on and on....

On average on a typical system with a healthy battery approximately 12 hours.

Anytime after that is a bonus, what happens next depends very much on what panel you have. Usually the panel has not got enough power to keep something like a keypad alive, once the panel notices the loss of an auxiliary such as a keypad the entire system will activate, for how long depends on the age of your system.
The end result is hopefully your external siren is relatively recent and will stop after 15 minutes after a full system failure.
