I'd appreciate if you could help me choose a brand of cig and liquid. Currently smoking Marlboro Gold or Marlboro Ice Blast about 12 a day.

    All ideas appreciated.

Apologies if this is not under correct forum.

The Vamo with a protank is a solid device, and built like a tank.
I started out with ego twists and after a few weeks I got the Vamo, the ego's have gathered dust since.
I assume your from Galway with your user name, so you could visit Bart from thebestshop.eu and try out some flavours and get advice on what device would suit your needs. That's what I done before I splashed out on vaping gear and they were very friendly and helpful.
Remember everyone's taste is different so the only way to find a liquid you like is to try them first. At the moment I'm vaping Liqueen Apple Mint on a Kanger Aerotank, mint gives good hit and apple is not too fruity, just right for me.
Best of luck with your vaping, I hope you find something that you enjoy.

For EGO batteries I think this one looks decent as it would probably last you a day between charges

a lot of people also seem to really like these, there's newr version also just released but I don't have a link of where to buy.

If you have a little more of a budget get a good regulated MOD and an Aspire Nautilus with BVC coils, if you then take to the vaping you'll probably soon enough move on to rebuildables

It seems the iSticks are indeed quite popular and have good reviews and I also see that most of my friends (and myself) move to rebuildables after a while. Rebuildables (or RBAs) are bigger tanks with room for customization - you get to make your own coils and you put in your own wicks. In the end you get a healthier carrier (usually organic cotton is used for the wick material) and better flavour, throat hit and clouds. But that's after a while, I'd suggest getting used to the game before you buy an RBA and the above kit seems like a great option. For liquids it's generally good to start with tobacco flavours to mimic the cigarette taste and when that's no longer needed you can move on to other flavours - there's an amazing range out there. Here's a tobacco juice from the same vendor:

    Enjoy!

Later edit: I'm not sure how that ceramic wick in that Aspire tank (from the kit above) goes, my experience so far with clearomizer is mostly with Kanger's and they've worked perfect for me. They have the Subtank which I haven't personally tried but has received great reviews. You may want to keep in mind that the thing is a big beast, you might not feel for that size at first. It's even bigger than a rebuildable (which are normally 23mm wide and this is 25mm) but the flavour is said to be great, it uses organic cotton for replacement heads and it comes with a rebuildable kit so you can swap around from pre-made replacement heads to a rebuildable base with which you can play around and learn.

Are we really recommending a kanger subtank to someone for their first kit? Jesssus.

Firstly it won't even fire on a single one of the batteries recommended so far, secondly its bloody huge.

Op, get an iStick and nautilius mini, can't go wrong with them.

You're right to say it may be too large. I'll recommend a clearo with silica anyday over BVC with actual mesh + cotton on top just to keep the ceramic gunk away from my lungs. Suits the size, fits the iStick, decent wick material.

I'm usually concerned on health issues, that's why I recommended something with organic cotton for a new vaper. If you know any other clearo/decent sized tank that works well and possibly has organic cotton can you add it to the recommendation list?

Galway_dude, this is also very nice:
Joyetech eGrip - it's a small box mod with the tank inside too so you're good to go with just this, some liquid and spare heads. The latter are a bit more expensive than the other brands but then again you are looking at big savings on the long run compared to smoking and you can always change to new mods/tanks, etc. down the road. Besides, it also has a separate rebuildable base (fantastic little yoke) and when you decide it's time for that, you can play around and learn how to coil+wick an RBA.

    Max €50 to include liquid.

Can anyone suggest a liquid with a similar taste and lit to Marlboro Gold or Iceboats?
