    Hi All,
I run a small business where I ship on average 20 parcels per week to the UK, They are small enough to fit into a A3 envelope.

So my questions is who would be best to use as courier.

    My experience so far

Started with using Parcel Motel at a cost of 14.50 per parcel but they were taking at least 5 days to deliver and they lost on average 2 parcel per month

Went to Fastway was paying 12e per parcel again they were slow and lost 2 parcels in 1 week.

So my question is who is the best courier out there for UK Delivery, Ideally I would like delivery time to be 3 days and cost wise 15e is probably the highest I would go.

    Suggestions?

GLS may be an option, not sure where the size of your parcel would fit in though https://gls-group.eu/IE/en/parcel-shops/parcel-shop-prices

An Post also have discounted international rates. I think if you set up a business account with them they would deliver for about 9 euro.

I'm guessing that was sarcasm, I know it was obvious, but I wasn't sure if you knew about their business plans. They offer some great rates but I think you may need to be sending a certain volume etc.

He sent me this message a while back

    'UK is 7.90 upto 20KG

    France 12.50 upto 20KG

    Germany 9.50 upto 20KG

Pretty simple to get set up on also , you get billed at the end of every month'

No it wasn't sarcastic at all apologies if it came across that way, I have used them in the past to ship stuff to the UK but just as a regular customer but never considered them for an account

OH ha no worries. I myself have not set up an account with them but its worth enquiring about. I have however sent about 40+ items to the UK through standard post and have yet to have one lost.

They once lost 5 in a week belong to me, I've had no luck with couriers being honest

I've used Fastway (for 100s of parcels) GLS for around 40 and Nightline for maybe 20 or so to the UK. Not a single one got lost. How are you labelling the parcels? Seems like you are either extremely unlucky or something is happening to the labels in transit.

I switched to An Post for all deliveries since early last year and find them faultless. ZERO non-deliveries and just one damaged item out of over 10,000 parcels sent.

    Rates are better than courier.

The biggest advantage is in rural deliveries - the postie always seems to know where to leave a parcel.

i would also say An post from November to Christmas sending parcels all over europe i maybe lost 4 all standard post. For me its the only way i can compete on ebay with postage costs. i always figure what i loose in a couple of lost parcels i will make back up in much cheaper postage costs.

i used to use Fastway it was very slow and sometimes drivers didn't pick up etc. Then they doubled their rates to Uk they obviously dont want to ship to that market.

Does anyone have info on An post business account i must research it.

also has anyone ever claimed against a missing parcel with An post i once sent off claim form but heard nothing back.

I was also using fastway only started a few weeks back when I signed up sales agent says oh ya it is 10e per parcel to ship to UK and we use UPS to deliver , I thought ya great only to find out the were using Yodel who lost 2 parcels in a week and took an age to deliver rest, rang em back only to be told that UPS is 16e plus VAT per parcel.
