Before i begin i have to say that i am not very knowledgeable when it comes to plumbing/heating etc..
I have a Firebird oil burner outside in a small hut, and a small grey hose, I think it's an overflow pipe , is coming from the boiler and occasionally you'd see/hear water trickling from this into the gutter, especially when the heating/boiler is on.
recently the flow from this pipe is constant, 24/7, the boiler still fires and runs but the rads don't seem to be as warm.
    any help greatly appreciated...

Is it a condensing boiler? Either that or your safety valve is passing water

No not condensing, old Firebird burner, all linked up to a pressurised water system. The pressure unit can be heard coming on a few times during the day and night also since this began to happen.

Your safety valve is passing, and possibly an issue with your expansion vessel, you will need a good plumber to sort this for you.
