Got a set of 4 winter tyres for my new Superb just under 2 months ago and was very happy with them.
Recently, just before Christmas driving on a back road not familiar to me, I 'entered' a huge pothole. Dint pay much attention but recently noticed more road noise. Today, I checked the tyres just in case the tyres were wearing unevenly but saw a bulge on the side wall! Dangerous me thinks.
Got the tyres from Oponeo but they no longer have the Nokian. Does anyone know where one can get a single such tyre in Dublin? Fronm what I can read, this should be replaced asap.

Did you give Keith at discount tyres a shout ? They are based in Blanch and are great to deal with.

    Does he stock Nokian?

My other gripe is fitting them. When I got my winter tyres, I brought the car to a place in Naas. Before that took pics of all wheels just in case. The alloys were immaculate. The owner got a young guy who looked as if though he'd been on something to remove summer tyres and fit winters. Guess what: he managed to damage 2 alloys. The owner offered to pay for repair but I didnt have a stomach and just left. This after I emphasize that I would like them to pay attention! It happened o me before at Healy's in Naas. Is it so difficult to replace tyres (even when they are low profiles)?

That's another reason to travel to blanch, I've had them fit tyres to a few sets of BBS wheels over the years and never had any issues. Top class service.

Don't know if he stocks nokian but you can ask. I got a full set of Michelin winter tyres there a few weeks ago, worst time of year to be buying them too prices shoot up in the winter.

Hi, sorry to go off topic slightly but how do you find the winter tyres? i'm looking at a set of rims with michelin pa3 alpin tyrpes and almost have them bought...

to the OP it might be worth picking up a secondhand set of alloys or steel rims and leave the winter tyres on them? i know they wont look as good as alloys..

I find them grand,i got the alpine 5's, i went for them based on their wet weather rating, the last winter tyres i used were vredestein wintrac extremes which while good weren't as good as the michilens in the wet. Neither are a patch on a proper summer tyre like the F1 in the wet but it's about finding a good balance with a winter tyre.
