Cow with High Temperature

Have a cow here that got sick before christmas, the vet thought it was pneumonia first, she had a temperature of 106. Treated her for that but she didnt improve, over the next few days I think the vet injected her with a shot of everything he had in the van, she still had a high temperature though and lost a lot of weight. She lost the calf (7 months gone) on St. Stephens day but I was kinda expecting that. Had the vet at her again the other day, she had a temperature of just under 100, he put her on a course of antibiotics again (Betamox). Shes to get the last 30ccs today but she didnt look good again this morning so checked her temperature again and shes at 105 now. Shes picking at a bit of silage but wont look at nuts or meal, at this stage shes practically skin and bone. Shes not an old cow, about 5 id say. Any ideas out there would be much appreciated because at this stage I can only see this ending one way

Would she ever have eaten anything that penetrated her stomach? Had a cow here that sounded very similar and we shipped her off to the factory and she had a five inch wire poked through her.

Forgot to mention in my original post that we put in a magnet, it was suggested by another vet the brother was chatting with. It doesnt seem to have had any effect though.

Was she having difficulty breathing. the only time I have a temp so high was when we got an outbreak of IBR. Its unlikely that she would last till now if it was IBR. I wouldnt expect such a high temp from swallowing wire.

Sounds very like mycoplasma bovis but symptoms would be lame stiffness and swollen joints ! But as regards not responding to anti biotics it's very similar! We eventually cut our losses and her pain and put her down! Nothing worse than getting up every morning and first job is checking did she make it through the night!
