lots of stuff on the market depending on budget
Im using the Alpecin stuff from the chemist at the moment about 9 euro a bottle, leave on hair for 2 to 3 mins,it tingles whilst on :)
Has it improved you may ask ?,it claims to slow down loss

Very basic but SO good for thickening hair: the new(ish) ELVIVE range... LOreal Elvive Fibrology Thickening Shampoo. They also have conditioner etc.

For growth I recommend 'For Hair that never Grows past a certain Length', Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment... check out the reviews on boots.ie.. :) I often get these in 2 for 3 offer

+1 for the fibrology. I used to use this and it was fantastic for strengthening and thickening my really thin hair. My boyfriend who has long hair also swears by it and continues to use it.

I myself now use mane and tail shampoo and conditioner and find my hair has stayed thicker and stronger. My hair is now almost waist length, It's also shinier and easier to manage. Like yours, my hair used to get greasy very quickly so now I only brush the lengths of my hair rather than the hair closest to the roots, I just shake them out with clean dry hands. Get yourself a good de tangle spray (I use the mane and tail de tangle spray) to use aswell, it'll help keep your hair strong with less breakage.

I found the Fibriology dreadful, left my hair really greasy and lifeless. I'm using the Aussie Volume shampoo at the moment and finding it quite good. Also like their volume dry shampoo. Got them recently in Tesco for half price

Op I assume your a guy from your username and the fact you state you have a receding hair line.

Firstly I'd recommend you switch to a shampoo like Alpecin which claims to prevent hair loss and encourage hair regrowth. Secondly make sure your conditioning your hair so that its not getting damaged. I'd also recommend you stay away from heat styling as it can damage your hair.

Other things you can do would be starting to take biotin which helps keep your hair healthy which will prevent premature hair loss. You could also start using a product such as rogaine foam which help hair regrowth and prevent hair loss. Lastly you could talk to your doctor and get a prescription for a medication such as minoxidil.
