    Hi all,

if a parent signed a deed of transfer on a Monday, thus authorising a gift to his/her child and that child signed the deed accepting the gift on a Friday, which day would be the Valuation Date for tax purposes - Monday or Friday?

    Regards in advance!

    Monday.

That is the date of execution of the deed, which is defined by Revenue in SDR1 form help (Stamp Duty) by Revenue as.....

"the date the instrument was first executed (signed by either party).

That date will also be the the Valuation date of the Gift for Capital Acquisitions Tax.

But I'd advise giving them a ring to be sure!

A deed is dated from the date of the first signature
