So just booked my mams Xmas present for me and her to go to Rome for 4 nights in March. Both flights and accom cost 400euro for the 2 of us, not each. Is this a good price or bad price? Flying with Aer Lingus to FCO in Rome.

Seems a tad high to me tbh.
~ I've just tried skyscanner with varying dates and came back approx 360Euro at most expensive.
~ I've checked AerLingus site direct as coming in under 300Euro incl taxes & charges (no checked baggage though).

When did you make your booking?
    For what dates?
    Through AerLingus direct?
Did you clear your cache before you booked?

    Thanks,

Made the booking just last night.
The dates are for 1st March and fly home on the fifth.
I made the booking through Alpharooms
I have no idea what clearing cache means..

The flights the I'm booked for are 250 return for 2 people on the Aer lingus site. Which means my accom for 5days 4nights makes up the other 150.
I did however book a hotel in the centre of Rome which could account for the excess on the price...

    Thanks Kerry

Ah well then that seems okay. I've always found the Centre of Rome to normally be more expensive than closer to Termini so that's a positive.

You should however now contact the hotel directly in writing (e-mail) and ask for confirmation that they have your reservation okay :) (piece of mind)

    Happy Travels,

So the cost for 1 person for return flights to Rome and 4 nights accommodation was €200? This seems like very, very good value to me, depending on the hotel of course.

TBH I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I had set my limit somewhere around 350.. Thinking back to a Berlin trip last year... So I'm guessing in and around 400 is a somewhat decent price.. She better be happy with it!!! If heard talk about Rome a number of times over the last year so I'm guessing she will be! Shes still pissed at me for not getting her a present for Xmas so this should come as a surprise!

Ohh and Kerry I have received emails from both Aer Lingus and hotel everything is confirmed!!

To me that seems cracking value for 4 nights in Rome especially if you got a half decent hotel. For flights and accom 200euro each is brilliant.

I second this. Just back from Rome couple of days ago and paid more than that just for the room (with breakfast) for three nights. All depends on where you're staying of course. We were in very nice place about three minutes from Forum and Coliseum.

Still felt it was good value considering we were there for New Year as well as location and room quality. Nice bonus of four hundred euro each on return due to overbooked return flight probably made it feel less expensive though 😊

Enjoy. Amazing city. Already hoping to go back.
