Effaclar duo plus hype?

I'm mid thirties with moderate acne and decided to buy the effaclar as its got absolutely amazing reviews. It's also got a built in mark lightener and as I've got red marks from healed spots I thought great. I've been using this cream for the past 11 days and can't say I've noticed any difference? I've been on antibiotics and it cleared them up but after a few months been off them they came back. I can't go on roaccutane as I have an anxiety disorder. So wished this effaclar would have helped me! Anybody else use this and think meh!

    My routine is:
Cleanse with la Roche posay tolerine cleansing cream
Put la Roche Posay effaclar on areas affected.
    Use Nivea oil free moisturiser

I can tell that it's helping to clear my acne, but I'm getting as much new break-outs as ever. I'm not really sure to be honest, I honestly think sudacream was helping more

Op you routine doesn't look like your using any suncream which is essential and will help fade the post inflammatory hyper pigmentationas will using a product with nicotinamide or glycolic acid in it. If the product isn't working for you you should probably considering changing to a different product.

    Even after 11 days?

I think you need to give it 4 weeks before you can judge of it's working or not. I've been using lrp rosiliac and it seemed useless at the start. 2 months later my skin is amazing.

Yes I'm going to continue using it in the hope that I see improvement.

It may well work for you after a few weeks, but I was using it for something like two years and barely saw any improvement worth noting. I stopped using it before Christmas and my skin is no worse for it either.

Basically it works great for some people, but I didn't get the hype. But you'll need to use it for longer to find out.

Have to say I've noticed today that a few marks are fading and I didn't need concealer on top of foundation so here's hoping it's doing something.

I bought no7 beautiful skin oil free moisturiser with built in sunscreen today so hope this helps.

Didn't realise there was any hype around it-got recommended it in pharmacy.i wouldn't say it's changed my life but it has definitely improved my skin. Just on my 2nd tube.

I can't say if it helped my skin or not - but after I used it, my skin cleared up. I then went back to my usual moisturiser (Clarins) and it flared up again.

Usual moisturiser now in the bin :)

There are quite a few raving reviews and blogs devoted to it

Op I never say the bit saying your only used it for 11 days sorry. I'd recommend so you use it so for around 4-6 weeks and see if your skin is making any improvement. I would also recommend you go and see your derm as if antibiotics in the past have failed to clear your acne up I would doubt otc products will give you the same results.

Antibiotics did clear up my skin but the acne came back after a few months. I don't want to be on antibiotics long term it's can't be good for you.
