    Hi Guys

Ok looking for a new car for Misses, currently she has 2.0ltr Diesel Golf and really it is getting a bit small, have a 1 year old and another on the way.

I have a Qashqai, company car and was cheap so went with it. Got it for the space but in reality it is not great. When I was test driving I took out a Tiguan and my wife loved it. I thought it was nice as well and very nice drive.

Anyway she is looking to change. We looked at 2010 Audi A4 but dont think that will be a runner. Also they wanted 13k for it on top of her own with same mileage as her own

The other option is BMW 3 series estate. Well that is what we have discussed already, not sure what else is out there at the moment. So just looking for idea's. Her car is 09 so she wants to go up at least 1 year but I am saying go up 2 years.

Any idea's? is there a new model Tiguan out this year? would that mean the older model should come down in price.

E91 is not a big car interior wise, touring will have a bit more practical boot but rear legroom is probably no better than the Golf's. What about a Superb estate? Bags of room for both luggage and passengers.

Done a quick carzone search and found a few like below

I knew the Skoda would be mentioned but I don't think I would be able to sell that to her.....

Seen a lovely Skoda Estate on way into rugby on Saturday, Northern car....think it was RS or something on back of it. Was nice....

Neither the Tiguan or the 3 Series are going to be a massive jump on the Golf in terms of space. The Tiguan is basically a Golf on stilts anyway (it's the same platform) and the E9x BMWs aren't particularly roomy at all.

Both would hold 2 car seats, will have Axiss but am confident they will hold 2 Axiss.....

The boot space on the BMW should be alot more than in the Golf? The Tiguan is probably the same boot space I would expect....I havent checked exact spec and it was 2012 when I drove the Tiguan....

Oh you'll fit 2 car seats and 2 buggies in them alright. But you'll fit them in the Golf to. I've had twins in the back of my 3 door GTI numerous times with their child seats, buggies and the luggage they bring. I'm just trying to say that if the primary reason you're looking to change is space, then the Tiguan and E91 probably aren't the best options.

Ok but what other options are out there? Thanks

A Tiguan has 480 litres boot space which is about 90 litres more than a standard Golf, when you put the seats down - you've got way more room than a Golf.

Ok bit of an update, so went to test drive a Tiguan....Misses didn't even get into it, boot is too small. After her saying it was Tiguan or nothing....

Test drove a Passat Estate, she liked the space and it was a 2.0ltr engine so the extra bit of poke was nice. But no cruise control which was a major disadvantage. Also steering with loads of buttons on it and none of them work(no preinstalled car kit etc) so that pi**ed her off,....was getting a decent deal but we left.....

She is going to have a look at ix35 but now more open to other Estates,.,,,,before the standard bandwagon of Skoda's start popping up, garage was Skoda as well and she looked in one...said no way would she drive one :-)

What about a Honda crv. I drove one for 6 years and while they wouldn't win any prizes for being exciting, they are comfortable, roomy and reliable.
