Switch from oil to gas -Navan

Our oil burner is old - we inherited it with the house we bought and while it's still working (and regularly serviced) it's showing signs of age. The previous owner who had the burner built in did that inside the house which isn't recommended anymore.
We would like to switch to gas and get an efficient gas burner installed. BG confirmed that there is gas in the area so we only have to pay the connection fee.
Any experience with the cost of the actual burner installation? What should be done/avoided etc. Any tips appreciated.
