Connector- what is it ?

    audi a3 2002 front passengerwheel
    any ideas what this black connector near top of pic is ?
    its on every wheel , i think its the ABS sensor link but not sure ?

    Its a brake pad wear sensor id say.

    It's the ABS speed sensor. A3's along with most cars only have brake pad wear sensors on the front.

    yeah thats what i thought , pretty sure its not brake pad wear.

    That picture you posted is 100% definitely the brake pad wear sensor. It's not on every wheel. It's only on the front left.

    The plug for the ABS sensor is a similar shape but plugs directly onto the sensor itself, there is no wire in between.

    yes 100% brakepad wear sensor plug in a flexy metal bracket,thought there should be another one on other side on audi?,when changing pads say the discs are well pitted.

    Not on an A3, only front left.

    sensors only on front on old cars newer models front and rear,thinking of passat and golfs 2003,wires break and light comes on

    apologies , as George, and the others pointed out ( thanks for that )

    its the front left brake wear sensor and its not on every wheel,

    the ABS one looks similar in shape at the rear , thats what got me.

    well you learn something new every day .

    appreciate the help , as i want to order pads and disks for this thing.
