Calculating tax on redundancy

Looking for some help of to be pointed in the right direction.

I'm taking redundancy in Feb, I'm getting 4wks per year, equating to just over 21k.
From what I've read about 17k is non taxable (pls correct me if I'm wrong on any of this) which leaves 4k to be taxed, I'm on the lower rate of tax, but this is the bit I'm not sure on, I have my tax credit, my wife's credits and a few other credits along with these, do these credits come into play when calculating what I'll be paying back or am I just paying back a standard rate, cheers
