waterproofing stone clad building

2 storey stone clad garage recently renovated, it has a block cavity wall. There is a 2ft soffit overhang so the 4 upper corners just have the bare stone, no cavity wall for those triangles.

All walls/studded partitions upstairs and downstairs were finished 38'' insullated plaster boards and skimmed. There are trap doors on both crawl spaces upstairs.

It is currently being dried out before being painted however when I checked it today the mdf trp doors were damp and mouldy. I presume there is a lot moisture getting in at the stone corners.

Any ideas on how I can remedy this?

    Many thanks

    fn

Is the garage heated and ventilated?

Windows are opened most days and and the rooms are being heated with an electric oil filled heater.

    1. When you say 'block cavity wall' do you mean it's 9inch hollow block or 12inch block /cavity /block
    2. No vents? And weeping stone work? Are the timbers bedded into the block work/stone work?
    3. Is the roof standard felt? Are there any vents in the attic allowing the roof space to ventilate?

Is there a dpc in the ground floor?
Is there a dpc course in the rising walls/block work?
Is the ground floor level higher than the external ground level?
Is there roof drainage and is it taken away to a soak-away?

    Thanks for your reply

    1. it's a block / cavity - 50mm of insulation / block

    2. no vents in the walls like the house, there loosks to be mositure coming in through the pointing, timbers on the wall plate not in the block work

    3. roof has felt and slates, I was looking in the crawl space last night and the felt was shaking so air might also be coming in through a gap in the soffit.

    4. & 5. I'm not sure about the dpc but I suspect there is

    6. ground level on the external ground level, ie you walk straight into it from outside

    7. the roof has gutters and they feed drains

We've been drying it out for the last week now and it seems to have improved but I think I still need to be looking at water-proofing the stone work.
