These are a cock and hen teal, there's no doubt.Whoever said they were widgeon ought to take a spin to specsavers.

No harm in familiarising yourself with all Irish duck/goose species since not all are on the quarry list.

    Tom
Common teal for sure, a hen and drake.

    Sound advise by Capercaille.

Why shoot a quarry when you do not know what you are shooting, a bit unsporting

Have to agree with DeerHunter on that one, you and your buddies need to brush up on your bird identification :)

We were out that giving day with the dog hunting pheasant, I was told by the fellow with me in the corner of the next field there is a pond which there is usually duck on and sure enough there was, I haven't much experience of duck shooting but I can assure all the above with the unsporting comments that I don't shoot at anything and everything, thanks again to the earlier replies for there help.

well if offended don't come on this forum and expect to hear just what you want to hear, expect and accept the criticism be it constructive or not and learn by it, if easily offended then you should not publicly post anything, or else post your comments so that they are more complete so we on here have a more complete understanding of your predicament, then you may not get the comments you do not want to hear, also my comment was not meant to offend you or be sarcastic.
