Hi guys, happy new year to you all and nothing but fairways and greens for 2015.
I have to play on Wednesday with a friend from Australia. I wish to play within an hours drive from Dublin on a course that allows buggies. May I have your suggestions please (weather forecast would be appreciated if you knew it!)
    Cheers

You dont 'have' to play, you 'get' to play- big difference :)

Above links will provide open fixtures and weather forecast. Wednesday not looking great unfort, might make it harder for you to be let out in a buggy...

Ah I know I get to play........ Just been too busy to research. Hoping my good peeps on here can give me the lowdown on home courses that are relatively dry etc. Opens are out I'm afraid as my mate has no handicap. Casual but classy is the order of the day. But in buggies.

Portmarnock Links might be an option for you.
It should be in great nick still and I am fairly sure they hire buggys
There are a couple of member on here who might be able to advise.
Though as the previous poster said the weather is looking very poor for golf on Wednesday.

Seapoint TErmonfeckin just outside Drogheda , lovely links course with buggys available.

Glen of the Downs in Wicklow is nice imo. Very open, pretty dry underfoot afaik. Have buggies. Nice clubhouse for afters, though may not be open late. I'm not a member there, just play it occasionally. Friendly spot too. Try their web site for green fee offers. BBC.co.uk weather forecast is one of best Imo - check it out for Wednesday.

If it's an Aussie coming over then I would bring them to a links. With Portmarnock links or The European being my top two for price & quality. Corballis an option too if on a budget and/or with limited time.

There's a Norwegian weather forecast site that every golfer should check out imo. It's called yr.no. App available too.
I gave up on met.ie in favour of it. Their short term forecasts are great.

+1 on yr.no, it's excellent and the hourly forecast off it in conjunction with the rainfall radar from met.ie is essential when planning a round or deciding to give it a miss..

For me Portmarnock Links or European

Would want out check out Buggy on both.

The two above are about as good a value for that level of course you will ever get.
