Saw a shorting star / meteor very low in the sky to EAST/SOUTH EAST over Irish Sea about an hour ago. Quick flash then disappeared. Used to seeing them but not this low in the sky and rarely see them unless trying to see them.

    Anyone else see it?

Could have been a marine flare?

Have made call outs on flares in the past, this was a white flash that appeared to be going horizontally. No hanging flare etc. Lasted not much more than a second I'd say. Spooked me nonetheless!

The Quadrantids peaked today. Fairly drowned out by the moon!
