Hey people. As it says I need a guide price for a clutch on an Alfa 159 JTDM.

    I need to go shopping.

Also would an Insignia one fit?

    Cheers on advance

    Just two piece clutch kit?
Or three piece clutch kit including concentric?
Or full four part clutch and flywheel kit?

It's €1150 including fitting, last time I checked the proper kit alone was over 500 sterling.( that's the lot including dmf)

Are you sure it's gone? I thought mine was on the way out when I got it 3 yrs ago, it's still going! It sometimes slips in 5th and 6th for a couple of weeks (especially if doing long cruise control runs, then you put your foot down) but it settles down again.

Dunno about the insignia clutch, the gear ratios are way different, but not sure if it's the same box.

That's what happened press. Was on a long motorway run and it started slipping in 5th and 6th when I put the foot down. Seemed fine around town. Hadn't noticed an issue before that really. What exactly is involved.

It's a 1.9 for those asking. George I don't know what exactly is needed. It just started slipping as pred described

I haven't a clue George. It just started slipping today.

    It'll be grand!
Look on the Alfa forums this seems to happen on and off to a lot of them.
The last time mine did it it got to a stage where you could feel it slipping alot
But the next week it was grand, I had G Dalton notified to expect it for a new clutch, that was 6 months ago.
Drive it on ta fook and don't worry about it until it won't go anymore :D

Edit: I don't know if it means anything but right after it started slipping the last time, I ragged the arse out of it on a trip to Galway and back, I reckoned if it needed a new clutch the old one was going to go out in a blaze of glory, it's fine since.

Don't panic for the moment so. The other lad above is particularly hard on a car and hasn't managed to break the clutch yet :pac:

If you fancy a trip to New Ross there is a decent Alfa and lancia chap there. He has a gta track car and a delta integrale. Well respected by the Alfa community as well. He's done a good bit of work for me and outside of Mr dgt he's one of the few who I'd let at my car.

Anyway the two piece kit for the 159 is around 120 pound from shop 4 parts. That's for a 16 v which I think is your 159.

Regarding letting lads at your car.... There's decent mechanics all over the country, an Alfa "specialist" is not needed for a diesel 159

Having seen what some "decent mechanics" had done to my gtv I'd beg to differ.
Anyway most mechanics run a mile when they hear Alfa or slap on a big premium

    What had they done.... ?
You do realise that some morons playing with your gtv does not justify you disagreeing with my post ?

+1 on this . He has worked on all my previous alfas including my last alfa a 159 1.9 JTDM.
He fitted the clutch , DMF and concentric slave cylinder .
I got all of the above genuine alfa/fiat from shop4parts . Register on the fiat forum for 5% extra discount.
Found the genuine parts Cheaper than spurious.
Also I would recomend removing your subframe and getting it treated at the same time.
Also if you have the M32 box it may be worth while fitting the upgraded bearings and flush the gearbox oil
