We had an XL7 5 seater, which we traded in last year. Constant problems with sensors, which included a sensor going off for "wheelspin" regularly. Hard to see how it was doing that, it was so underpowered. Big, heavy beast of a vehicle, it saved my missus 3 times in side on crashes. Huge room in it, selectable 4WD which worked well. It seemed heavy on diesel at the low 30's, but I don't know what we expected with a weedy engine pulling a big heavy body, even without me in it..........

    Hi Huntsman,
I have a 07 (Late model) Grand Vitara 1.9DDIS and I love it. It is very comfortable to drive with a great seating position up high. It is great off road and on road. The thing to bear in mind is that it has a DPF (Diesel Particle Filter) and it will clog up if it does not get a spin down a dual carriage way or motorway every two weeks or so. I do big miles in mine and love the comfort i have stepping out after a return trip Dublin to Cork and no pain in the back.... however saying that I am looking at selling mine soon and the only reason is it only gives about 30MPG. I need more as I am doing more big miles now. Looking at something purely for my pocket now :(
Have no problem recommending them and three people I know bought one in the last year after driving mine!

2005 was the change in model design. Timing belt is about every 40k miles which is a bit low in comparison to others but I have mine done 3 times so far and sweet as a nut...
    Good Luck!
