    Hi guys,

Came back to my parents this weekend and they are missing all their Irish channels. Think someone was messing wih settings yesterday. Like all of them come up on a scan under DVB-T and volume works, but no picture. I also had rte 1 working too, but it's gone now that I've tried rescanning several times.

Anyone have any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

All the UK channels work as well so I'm pretty lost.

If I now select channels under DVD-T the picture actually shows eventually, but it's so pixelated that it isn't right. Could it simply be bad weather? I have my doubts with that though because UK channels work perfect.

Maybe you've tuned in Saorview from more than 1 transmitter? Are there any duplicate channels in the list?

    Yep could well be dude!

What transmitter should I be using? May reset to factory settings.

Are there duplicate Saorview channels in the lineup? Doing a factory reset & rescan will more than likely just find the same stuff again.

Your receiver isn't Saorview approved, so it's possible it just put everything in the order it was found, regardless of signal quality. Might have found weaker transmissions on lower frequencies, & put then at the top of the list.

Yeah I'm thinking you've hit the nail on the head here. I just checked there and there is a few duplicates from the DVD-T list and all satellites list. Should I delete them?

Is there some way to fix the problem?

    Thanks, greatly appreciated.

Keep the DVB-T services with the best signal, & delete the weaker duplicates. Post the UHF channels nos./frequencies of the good ones here, if you can.

The satellite duplicates will be different regional variations of BBC, ITV, Ch.4, & Ch.5. Delete those you don't want: for Ch.4 & Ch.5 it's just a matter of differences in advertising content AFAIA.

    Thanks so much!!!

Deleted a good few duplicates and the channels seem to be all good for now.

Could I ask you one more question in the satellite list what are the ones I should be scanning eurobird, Astra and the like it does it make a difference?

    Thanks again!
