I wish to build a concrete(block) garage. It plans to be a double garage with a slate A roof. Any idea how much per sq meter. I hope to use a double wall as I have been told that in the long run it will be not be damp and I can store household stuff if I need to in the future. any idea on the approx cost or ideas about undertaking suck a project. I am living in a rural setting in Munster.

I've just completed a similar self build project. I built a 40 x 25 ft two story garage using the double leaf method of laying 4 inch blocks on edge with a 5 inch cavity. Then facing off two walls with red brick to match the house. it's got 5 double glazed windows Two Velux and an insulated Garage Door. Turned out a great job and I'm very pleased with it.
Double leaf is definitely the way to go but you need to get the spec right. I had planned to get the cavity pumped with insulation but have found it's very dry and comfortable even in these cold nights so I'm going to wait for now.
After 3 years I've had no tools ruined unlike my old garage where I've had to replace most tools over the years.
cost wise it has not been cheap costing about 20k. But it's a once off project so over it's useful life will work out cheap and adds value to the House.
I have two cars I want to restore and my son wants the upstairs as a GYM. There's plenty of room for storage also.

    good luck with your project.

For a general 9.5 x 6 garage seems to be costing around 20k or close to €400 per m2 these day when been built along with house. What you consider a finished garage and I could have thousands in the difference.
